Gay generally refers to men who are sexually attracted to other men.

A post-operative transexual is now phyically the opposite sex after having Gender Reassignment Surgery.

Drag Queens are typically can men who dress as women. They often perform or work in bars. Many drag queens are not transgender (i.e. they don’t have an urge to crossdress) but do it for work or the thrill.

A pre-operative transexual is planning or waiting to have Gender Reassignment Surgery.

Gender Reassignment Surgery is the sex change operations. For a Male To Female this is to remove the penis and create a vigina, or Female to Male to create a penis to replace the virgina. Breast enhancement or removal surgery may also feature.

The nick-name for transvestites, but also covers the spectrum of being M2F transgendered. Many people do not like this term, and opt for T-Girl.

An admirer is someone that is attracted to transgender people sexually. Typically these are of the same genetic sex, for example, a male and a transvestite. Many admirers feel that they are “straight”.

Transvestites wears the clothes, adopts the look and mannerisms of the opposite sex. This is just done on a temporary basis to full-fill an urge or desire. Some transvestites wear clothes outside the home and go out in public.

Drag Kings are typically women who dress as men either because they are transgendered or because of the thrill and excitement.

A Tranny Fanny is a girl (real) that hangs-out with transvestites and drag-queens.

A Fag Hag is a girl (real) that hangs-out with gay men.

A purge is when a crossdresser or transvestite through away all their clothes and transgender items in an attempt to stop crossdressing.

Being Femme is when guys have femmine traits – this can often be mistaken for gay or camp gestures. It is also used to describe lesbians (women) who are quite 'girly' (i.e. not your typically lesbian stero-type)

This is often used to describe lesbians who look very boy-ish.

This often seen as a derogatory term used for lesbian and refers to women who are sexually attracted to other women. Often used by lesbians to describe each other.

Lesbian refers to women who are sexually attracted to other women.

Straight generally refers to men or women who are sexually attracted to opposite sex. Often admirers refere to themselves as 'straight' even though they are attracted to transgendered people.

Bi-curious is the term used when some in unsure of their sexual orientation and have or want to experiment sexually with a partner of the same sex.

A bi-sexual is some one who is sexually attractive or active with both sexes.

Female to Male (or F2M) is the term used to show the direction the transformation is from and too.

Male to Female (or M2F) is the term used to show the direction the transformation is from and too.

A hermaphrodite is often used incorrectly for Shemale, however, this is a rare medical condition where someone is born with both male and female sexual organs.

A shemale is someone that has male and female parts. Typically in M2F this is a penis and breasts – and looks female.

T-Girls cover everyone who is M2F transgendered .

A time waster is someone that gets to know someone online (or on the phone) but does not turn-up for agreed meetings.

This is a derogatory terms sometimes used for crossdressers that have body hair and wear female underwear for sexual arousal

The all encompassing term to cover people that are either crossdressers, transvestites or transsexuals.

A couple, either gay or straight, male or female in relation to transgender. This term is generic and used for this site.

A female – in relation to transgender is someone who has typically has no desire to crossdress, but may find transgendered people sexually attractive or interesting.

A male – in relation to transgender is someone who has typically has no desire to crossdress, but may find transgendered people sexually attractive or interesting.

A transsexual is someone who is as adopted the opposite sex from which they where born to live their life – this is the physical side of being a transsexual. There is also a mental state of being a transsexual where you actually want to be the opposite sex you were born as – but are unable to fulfil this (e.g. relationship, career, guilt etc.)

Someone who likes to wear clothes of the opposite sex, but does not include full-make, mannerisms etc. The cross-dressing is typically for sexual pleasure or arousal. Some crossdressers do not dress “fully” due to lack of opportunity, for example, they are in a relationship, guilt etc.
